Shut of and throwing Dram debug light

Just swapped out a ryzen 5 5600x with a ryzen 9 5900x a buddy had left after upgrading and gave to me for free, we installed it and the system booted fine with out any issues then about 45 minutes into testing the screen went black. It then wouldn’t show any display but all lights were on we moved around the ram and got it to boot again but now the ram is in the two ram slots farthest from the cpu so it’s not running dual channel any idea what would’ve caused this and how to fix?
