HELP! How do i transport my glasspad from overseas back to my home with me ?

I just bought my very first glass pad ! and i was wondering how can i safely transport it back home. My initial thought was to just wrap its original packaging in extra layers of bubble wrap and put in a big bag carry on luggage and take it with me on board, but my mom just told me that it's prohibited to take glass items on board, im worried that if i put it in my checked luggage it will shatter even with layers of bubble wrapping. Please, if you have ever been in similar situation how did you deal with it ? Thank you all in advance!
