This is my son's fly trap. His room only has a north facing window under a huge oak tree, so it stays dark in there. He had a grow light very close to his plant, it has 5000k. But he was worried it looks like it's thirsty or maybe etiolating. I had just received some very bright lights and put them up on my plant shelf, and he put his fly trap there because it seems a bit brighter than his room. Also, he keeps distilled water sitting in the bottom of this little set up.

We are trying to figure out a way to put it outside in full sun. We live in apartments, but we have some front and back yard space in full sun, and we're allowed to put out decorations.

But the full sun is a little ways away from the house. Of we just sat it on the front or back porch, it would not receive full sun.

Also the worst thing is we have wild rampant kids out there and they 100% probably will mess with it.

I was wondering about putting a bird bath out there and somehow fixing a tiny little bird cage to it and have it and some more carnivorous plants in there, like it's a cage of wild animal plants, but I'm not sure if it would work.

If you have yours outside, what is your set up like? Also, this is a duplex, and we have no access to the south side windows. That's the neighbors side. 😭

Also there are no fences here. So that's not an option.

Ideas for outdoor set up?
