boyfriend moving to Australia…
My boyfriend and I have been dating for 1 1/2 years. We’ve always had such a wonderful relationship, it’s always felt easy and natural to love someone like him. We are both 24, and obviously trying to navigate through the world with jobs, hobbies, friends, etc. It can be stressful, but it felt as though we always had each others back through it all.
Roughly a week ago, he sat down next to me and told me that he’s moving to Australia in two months. This was the first I had heard of this. Going without a job, without a place to live, no plan whatsoever other than the experience of living abroad. He told me the best course of action is to break up and that eventually we could find our ways back to one another. Telling me he still loves me and wants to be friends was the first time I had ever seen him cry
It seems so reckless, like a quarter life crisis. I want to shake him by the shoulders and tell him that he owed me transparency, but at this point it’s hard to even take care of myself. I just feel so sad, so angry, and confused.
Any advice on getting through this is greatly appreciated <3
