Should I Leave a Chill Team I Love for a Higher-Paying, High-Stress Role? Need Advice ASAP
I need advice ASAP. I’m 24, single, no kids, in my first corporate tech sales job (3 months in). The company just got acquired, CEO stepped down early, and one of our managers already left. I freaked out a bit and responded to a recruiter on LinkedIn from a more well known company but not in tech selling something completely different.
Got the offer: same title (BDR), seems like real potential growth, more responsibility(which I like, because right now I feel like a child can do my fole), and $72K base with uncapped commission. I currently make $46K base with capped commission (that isn’t structured or expressed), but I love my manager and team — truly great people and chill work culture, fully remote. Downside: no real growth and really low pay.
The new role pays way better and looks strong on paper, but it’s high-stress, low work-life balance. People say if you’re not cut for it, you’ll burn out.
I’ve got college debt, didn’t finish school, and need to stack money — but I’m scared of leaving a team that actually values me and jumping into a different environment.
What would you do? Be brutally honest. I’m seriously overthinking & I have no one to get real advice on this my parents know nothing about sales or corporate business companies
