dolphin forgets defaults on hyprland?

im trying to use hyprland with dolphin as my file manager and kwrite as my text editor, however, whenever i open a text file (txt, config, etc.) dolphin asks for a program to use, even after i tell it to remember my choice. this does not happen on plasma. how do i fix this? if this isnt the right sub sorry
