Need Advice: How Do You Manage Housework with a Clingy Toddler?

Hi all,

I’m a stay at home mom, my husband is hybrid, 2 days at the office, 3 at home. He does a lot of the housework. Laundry, Dishes, vacuuming. He does it because hes very particular about how things need to be. We have an 18 month old.

My husband recently asked me to take up more of the housework so he can study for his exam which will enable more opportunities for him.

I think the disconnect between me and my husband comes up when I’m the type of person to focus on our daughter, see to her needs, and then I will do the housework while she’s napping or after bedtime. My husband is particular in the sense that he needs everything cleaned and organized right away. He usually takes time through out the day to do the housework while working. I told him I cannot do that. Things will have to wait until she’s out of my way. I just work like that. Plus it’s difficult to take care of my daughter and do housework at the same time. She’s very needy with me, with my attention and always wants something.

Any tips or advice on how to handle housework and my 18 month old at the same time. My brain just doesn’t work that way. But to ease my husband’s sanity I have to try.
