How do I deal with my coworker?

I had a work bestie. We were close for months. She’d always ask who else I talked to besides her, would get annoyed if I spoke to other coworkers, and even joked a few times about us moving in together. One time she asked if I’d ever date a girl and I told her no. After that, things slowly changed.

She stopped being how she used to be with me. She started getting close with a new coworker, and now they’re always together. Same energy, same jokes, the kind of attention she used to give me. I tried to ignore it, but it’s been bothering me, especially since she still tries to talk to me like nothing happened. When I try to keep my distance, she’ll call it out and say I’m ignoring her. It’s confusing. She won’t let me pull away, but she’s already replaced me.

I miss how funny we were together. Now the job just feels draining. She also told me most of our coworkers talk bad about me, so obviously I see them differently now too. Her relative also works there and lately she’s been acting off with me too. It’s just too much.

I’ve been trying to keep it light just hi and small talk but it’s uncomfortable. I don’t want her back as a bestie or anything. I just want peace. I’m applying to other jobs, but the process is slow. I’ve been thinking about removing her from socials so I stop checking everything, but it feels kind of childish. Still, we’re both young adults and I don’t know how else to handle this while we still work together.

Maybe I’m being dramatic, maybe not. But we all know that one work bestie we look forward to seeing every shift. It just sucks when they switch up and act like it was nothing.
