Sore throat and sour taste in my mouth

I keep getting a sore throat and this awful metallicy-sour taste in my mouth. My mouth also gets really dry and I have to cough sometimes. I’m already on two 20mg doses of omeprazole and Pepcid a day, each. Eating low-acid diet. Drinking lots of water. Sleeping with head elevated and a humidifier running. Trying to reduce stress. Using reflux raft before bed. All but the last one I’ve been doing for almost two weeks.

It’s driving me nuts and I don’t know what else to do. I’ve tried the xylimelts which helps a bit with the dry mouth, and a little chamomile tea after dinner seems to temporarily soothe the throat. But it always comes back.

Most other sore throat remedies have mint or menthol or a lot of sugar in them so I’m not sure if they’re safe.
