Question about RAM/RAM usage.

Hey, so I was using 16gb of ram for a really long time, and remember when I was playing days gone it was enough and everything was working great. I recently upgraded to 32gb and I can see that I'm using 26gb of ram. So my question is, is 32 like a must in 2025?
I know that when you have 16 the game will allocate it so it will never "run out" or crash is the better word, but when system and the game has more ram it will use it more freely?
