I finally love who I see in the mirror
I've struggled with my image and low self-esteem my entire life. I wasn't very popular in school and had more than my share of bullies. Life at home wasn't much better, my parents divorced when I was young and my mom married a real piece of shit human being. Long story short, I never really loved who I saw in the mirror.
Early on in my childhood, I started trying on my mom's clothes. I never understood why but always enjoyed looking at myself in the mirror before carefully putting everything back so I didn't get caught. As a teenager, my mom found a stash of women’s clothes that I'd started to collect and freaked out. She took me to a therapist who repeatedly asked if I was gay, despite repeatedly telling him I was not. After that, I did everything I could to avoid women’s clothes for a long time.
Almost 4 years ago, I started to explore my interest again with the support of my wife. Honestly, I think it really brought us closer together. Im able to communicate with her on a level I couldn't before.
I slowly started exploring further, adding makeup and accessories. Within a few months, I started leaving the house to go on short errands and eventually date nights with my wife.
At first I thought it was just crossdressing but quickly realized how sad I felt when it was time to 'switch back'... this wasn't just about clothes anymore. If I could leave my house a woman everyday, I would. I'm much more comfortable in a dress and makeup than I ever was in 'dude mode'
I'm getting better with my makeup and always look in the mirror before leaving my bedroom. The last few weeks, I really love who I see. I'm not critical of my flaws, I just look in the mirror and feel completely happy with who I see. I smile and it feels real. I feel confidence that I've never felt before and I love it.
I am trans and I accept that. I love myself for the first time in my life.
