Sennheiser Momentum 4 and in-line mic
Hello everyone! I'm hoping to get some assistance or insights from the community regarding an audio setup query, and please forgive me if this isn't the most appropriate place to ask – I'm genuinely just trying to find the right expertise.
I currently own a pair of Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones, which I absolutely love for their sound quality and comfort. I'm well aware that these headphones have a built-in microphone when operating in Bluetooth mode, which is convenient for quick calls. However, I'm exploring options to enhance their versatility, specifically for situations where microphone quality is more critical, such as online gaming sessions, video calls, or even just hands-free communication where a clearer voice pickup is preferred. My belief is that a wired connection could offer superior microphone performance compared to the integrated Bluetooth mic.
My primary idea is to acquire a 2.5mm to 3.5mm in-line mic cable. The 2.5mm end would connect to the headphones themselves, while the 3.5mm end would plug into my device (PC, console controller, phone, etc.). The key feature I'm looking for is the "in-line microphone" component, which allows for voice input directly from the cable.
My main question is: Has anyone here had personal experience using an in-line microphone cable with their Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones, or similar high-fidelity headphones that utilize a detachable 2.5mm cable? I'm really curious to know if these types of cables actually work reliably for voice communication, and what your overall experience was regarding the microphone's performance and clarity in a wired setup.
Any personal anecdotes, technical advice, or recommendations would be incredibly helpful as I try to determine if this is a viable solution for my needs. Thanks in advance for any input you can provide!
