Once you've wore the mask to fit in for decades, how do you navigate letting go of it all and becoming you again?
It's like my entire life was built around this character, a mask I wore to fit into places I didn't even want to be, for years I would mention it thinking I wanted to be doing something else with my life. I just stayed in hometown environments and never moved.
I realise my enviroments were quite high schooly toxic despite all being young adults. Lots of gossiping, meaningless hook ups, partying/drinking was the main thing.
I never fit in, but I tried to.
Now life is more peaceful and I'm learning to let go of that mask that I wore to survive my upbringing but now what? Who even am I? I want to start fresh entirely.
