should I go the MAD (Daybreak) route?
Alright, so I've been diagnosed with "mild to moderate" apnea. I have a CPAP machine that I've been unable to tolerate - I've tried it for a year with different masks but it seems to hurt my sleep more than it helps. I had a sleep test from Daybreak and in the two nights this was the summary:
🔹 On Night 1, your RDI was normal.
🔹 On Night 2, your RDI (3% desaturation criteria) was 6.0, which falls into the mild sleep apnea range. The 4% desaturation version (a stricter threshold) stayed below 5, which some clinicians still classify as normal.
Also, I used the Snorelab app and got a score of 7 last night. Which seems pretty low.
But my sleep is kind of shit. I usually get around 5 hours, waking up a few times, not feeling well rested. But I'm thinking it's not really caused by the apnea. If it would help significantly I would do it, but I don't want to be shelling out $1500 for the Daybreak MAD every few years.
But on the other hand....they promise a money-back guarantee.
My inclination is to hold off, to keep using snorelab and trying lifestyle changes and possibly exercises to reduce my snoring/apnea.
Thohgts?
