Recently diagnosed with moderate fatty liver and stressing.
Okay so I’m 19F and have been losing my mind and have honestly been scared to even eat food since I’ve been diagnosed with moderate fatty liver roughly a week ago. I saw someone else’s post who’s around my age so that is reassuring. This is probably gonna come out more ranty (what else is one to do while on the train haha). My gp seems far too relaxed about the diagnosis, considering I’ve struggled with my weight since I was about 8 (during most of childhood I struggled with portions but ate very healthily). I guess I’m looking for advice on what to do to help??
Some relevant info: I am vegetarian (decided to a few months ago as eating meat left me feeling yuck, and I live at home where my mum often makes quite oily meals using meat). I am also autistic, so if I do not like the food I simply will not finish the food (which I have learnt that simply starving yourself doesn’t help with fatty liver?) I’m also worried about calorie counting as I have had a very unhealthy relationship with food before.
I have started to put more effort into moving, I’ve been enjoying yoga (2x a week atm) as it is not too hard on my joints (I am hypermobile so my joints bend further than they should). Oh and most importantly I’m a full time uni student literally 9-5 Monday - Thursday :)
I know logically I shouldn’t be stressing as much as I am, but as someone who has struggled constantly with moderate-severe depression, studying has given me a reason to live and I want to not die when I’m like 30 or whatever. Sorry for the trauma dump, if you’ve read this all thanks a lot <3
