good news today….no peri Mets

My husband diagnosed in February of this year, stage 4 Mets to liver and peri. His CEA has dropped from 490 to 10 after 9 rounds of chemo. We met with surgeons over the last few weeks to determine next steps to see what chances we have of being operated on given that it was in 2 areas outside of the colon. 2 surgeons said they couldn’t see any peri Mets in the scans but it was in the radiologist notes.

We did a laparoscopy today because there was so much confusion and we wanted to be sure. Thankfully NO METS in peritoneum. Just 1 lymph node that is nowhere near the peri. He said he doesn’t think they were ever there in the first place. He also said the liver Mets are mostly dead tissue now. The largest liver lesion that was there at diagnosis is just scar tissue sitting there. This opens the door now to surgery options with a liver resection and pump. A lot better than where we were at diagnosis where we were almost laughed at when we brought up the possibility of a surgery. Hopefully we can move quickly to surgery 🙏🤞
