Do schools have any need for grunt volunteer work?
If this question doesn't really fit the forum, feel free to remove. I just wanted to ask some teachers.
So, I'm a male in my early thirties, and I've always been a huge academic nut. Regardless of the context, I love being around an educational setting.
Alas, I'm a software developer by day, and of course a musing philosopher by night. And as the years go by, I keep having this nagging desire to contribute and volunteer. If I could manage to volunteer in an academic setting, that'd be amazing.
But I wasn't really sure if that was a thing? Do you and your schools ever enlist help from volunteers for just daily grunt work that makes the lives of teachers easier? If so, what usually are those things, and how does someone step into that? (Or do schools not really bring in volunteers from non-parents?)
