A book about monsters in a basement

I remember reading it in primary school (around 2000's-2010s). it was a thing picture book and to be honest i can only remember the cover. it had a hatch on the floor with a monsters eyes peeking through it. I do know it had a TV show I'm pretty sure in the 90s-2000s. I've been searching trying to find it for the life of me but i cannot. thought I would try my luck here
