I’m new to rainworld help please?

So I for whatever reason bought rainworld on my Nintendo and I kinda like it but I need a few questions answers

1. How do u throw a spear up or down? I can only throw sideways making it incredibly difficult to kill the flying worm

2. Jumping is difficult what’s up with that? Like I’ll try to jump and it’s like barely a jump it’s more like a small hop
