Fell hard first time out of the gate
I came out as bisexual (F45) three years ago. I’ve been happily married to my husband for almost 16 years and he has been incredibly supportive. So much so that he encouraged me to pursue experiences with women. This was shockingly harder than I anticipated and it took me nearly three years to meet the first woman I would ever kiss. We had a truly magical, but unexpectedly intense, “situationship” for two months that ended in heartbreak for both of us. We fell in love, or lust, still not quite sure which one but she knew we didn’t have a future because of my marriage, and ended it. I know it was the right thing for both of us but dammit, if that didn’t hurt like hell. I haven’t done a breakup in almost 20 years. I forgot how all consuming it could be.
I’m glad to report that I’ve turned a corner and I’m doing better. But now I’m craving more….with her of course, but that’s not an option. So now I’m navigating how to meet other women and keep things a lot lighter going forward. My husband is okay with hookups and fun but got a little nervous about the previous circumstances.
I need to find my community of people who can relate. So does my husband.
Any advice or encouraging words?
