How to write a catchy song!

Lyrics

How to write a catchy song:

Songs have to have a beat, a melody, and a unique style, your brain follows a certain pattern to keep it interested that pattern is: BBCBCD

If you replace the letters with words or sections it ends up like this

B = Verse

  B = Verse 2

  C = Chorus

B = Verse 3

 C = Chorus 2

  D = Bridge

There is ways of rhyming that makes your brain remember it or memorize it quickly, it becomes more catchy and more fun to listen to It is known as an antimetabole which is a certain pattern, an easy way to remember it is ABBA.

The pattern can also be used in speech or talking too, an example is JFK’s (maybe Martin Luther King, I forget) speech of “ask not what your country can do for you, Ask what you can do for your country.”

What makes the parts of a song better?:

For the verses, you want to keep the same pattern no matter what it is, keep it simple and not as catchy as the chorus. Make a way to use repetition without rhyming… it is another technique used in speech.

For the chorus, You want to make it catchy and short, the last chorus should be built into the bridge and it should be longer. Some good examples are lots of taylor swift songs like Wildest Dreams and the newer hits by Gracie Abrams (Thats So True or I Love You, I’m Sorry)

For the Bridge, it should be long and really catchy, it should either tell the story or tell the future, either way it should be the part of the song that people think of when they hear the song.

Hope this helps!
