I’m feeling self conscious about marketing myself and my business- how do I get past it?
Hi! I ran into my business on accident- now I’m wanting to take this full time but I’m really nervous about marketing myself. Any advice?
I’m a contracts manager for a large company, and work with a lot of vendors of various sizes. I became a vendor management guru a few years ago and have basically ended up being a contracts manager and vendor manager for folks as they’ve become aware of what I do.
I’m a people person when I’m with a client, but I’m actually really shy and self conscious about marketing myself to folks. Honestly, If I could just have someone be the face of it and me be the worker bee behind the scenes and directly to clients, I’d love it. But that’s not realistic to promote what I’m doing. Right?
How do I get past this? Has anyone ever successfully branded their business by word of mouth only?
If so, how do you expand to new markets?
Also, if any of you are more of the reserved type- how do you brand your company in a way that makes you feel excited about what you’re doing?
Thank you!
