Could the Crown Jewel of Hachinosu be...?
I believe that the story yet to be told of what initiated the God Valley Incident (the theft of Rocks' most prized possession, the Crown Jewel of Hachinosu) could partly be inspired by the story of Helen of Troy.
I've originally posted here >> https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePieceSpoilers/comments/1lufwft/speculation_on_what_the_crown_jewel_of_hachinosu/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
But have since thought of some more information.
With the latest chapter (1154) spoiler, we can speculate that:
- Rocks may have been a king of a kingdom recognized by the world government.
- After killing an admiral, he became a wanted man and had turn to life of piracy
- At some point he became the father of Teach, who most likely adopted his mother's surname (Marshall D.) similar to Ace
- Teach is currently 40 years old. The God Valley incident happened 38 years ago so that would make him 2 years old at that time. However, Whitebeard didn't recognize Teach when he asked to join the crew so he must have thought that the child of his former captain must have died or his existence may have been kept a secret from his crew members.
Background:
The God Knights stole an important treasure, "a Crown Jewel of Hachinosu", prior to the God Valley incident. This treasure must be of a very high significance to Rocks that he will do anything to get it back. The God Valley incident was a rare occurrence where many of the celestial dragons and potentially all of the God's Knights were present on a relatively unprotected island. After receiving intel of the hunting game on God Valley, Rocks quickly arrived with his crew to wage war on the CD + GK with the hope of retrieving the stolen treasure. The movement of Rocks attracted Roger who in turn attracted Garp. Due to some unforeseen incidents, Rocks may have learned that the treasure must have been destroyed or lost, which cost him to go crazy and attack innocent bystanders. This resulted in both Roger and Garp having to team up to stop him.
The known outcomes of the God Valley incident:
- The Rocks Pirates disbanded. Big Mom and Kaido left with the Dragon Fruit. Whitebeard was scarred by Garling but possibly left with the Phoenix Fruit.
- Garling was named the Champion of God Valley.
- Garp became known as the Hero of the Marines.
- Roger took a treasure chest from the island, which later turned out to contain 1-year old baby Shanks (son of Garling), and without Rocks existence, he soon held the title King of the Pirates
My speculation is that the "Crown Jewel of Hachinosu" is not an item, but a person of significant importance to Rocks possibly the wife of Rocks who just gave birth to a boy named Teach (2 years prior to the incident). Teach's mother was rumored to be the most beautiful woman in the world, a red-haired maiden, the crown jewel of Hachinosu, a worthy trophy-wife of the soon to be king of pirates, Rocks D. Xebec. But consequently due to her beauty, she was wanted by the celestial dragons specifically the commander of the God Knights, Garling. After recently giving birth to Teach, she was promptly abducted to become a wife of Garling and soon after gave birth to a set of twins (Shamrock and Shanks).
The actual event at God Valley is a little obscured. Rocks' wife may have already been dead prior to the event or was killed in the event and she was the one who put Shanks in the treasure chest in order to protect him from Rocks. But the death of Rock's wife or the revelation that she had also given birth to a set of twins were what triggered Rocks to have gone berserk and hurt innocent bystanders (he maybe responsible for killing her) and thus required the combine strength of both Roger and Garp to stop him.
Additionally, the concept of half-brothers have recently been explored by Oda just a chapter prior i.e. the relationship between Loki and Hajrudin. As through some twist of fate, Teach and Shanks (who was called Child of Destiny by Gaban), one inheriting the will of Xebec and one inheriting the will of Roger (and of Joyboy) will be revealed to be half-brothers.
The intertwined family tree of our main characters and main antagonists will have become much more interesting if this turn out to be true. The relationships across generations between the Figarland, Rocks, Gol, and Monkey. The passing on of inherited will, fate and legacy vs. free-will, a lot of interesting topics to explore.
Intertwined family tree of major characters from different factions
TLDR: The Crown Jewel of Hachinosu that was stolen by the God Knights was the famed beauty, red-haired maiden (wife of Rocks and mother of Teach) to be made the wife of Garling who later became the mother of Shamrock and Shanks. (Inspired by the story of Helen of Troy)
