Can I get married in the US for the K-1 Visa and then get a wedding ceremony in the Philippines for culture purposes?
So I have a boyfriend from the US and he lives in Minnesota and we're in a committed relationship and we plan to get married after I graduate from college and repay my parents for 2 years or so (because it's my choice wise and I wanna spend my life in the Philippines for my parents first) and after that I'm gonna be ready to settle with him and everything
But our problem is that my mom wanted me to get married here first but that would mean my only option is the spouse Visa instead of the K-1 and that would mean we will have to wait years to get it approve just so I can finally live in the US with my boyfriend (husband by then)
Is it possible that I can just do the K-1 Visa method and just have a wedding ceremony here in the Philippines for culture purposes?
