After hearing about so much TTC chaos and loooong walks to/from Rogers Stadium, I decided to try cycling for the Coldplay show on July 8. And I kinda felt like a genius.

I entered the grounds from the south end — the north side of Wilson Ave just west of Transit Rd. From there, you’re cycling on a gravel path for maybe 300m before it turns into the runway. Then it’s a clear shot to the gates. Maybe 5 mins from street to gate without many pedestrians.

The official bike parking (with locking posts) is at Gate 1, but I tried my luck parking near Gate 3. IMPORTANT — DON’T LOCK YOUR BIKE TO THE TEMPORARY FENCE. My bike got moved and it was a pain in the ass to find and retrieve it. Some other cyclists locked up to the exterior (barbed wire-topped) fence and had better luck.

Post-show, I was able to mostly cruise down the left side of the runway and gravel path using my bell and politely asking people to move out of the way. Probably took 10 mins. Beats a 30 min walk. Once back at Wilson, take your preferred route home. Just make sure you have good lights and ride defensively because there is a LOT of bus, car, and pedestrian traffic.

Ride safe!
