Is Netflix the only option?

I have Crunchyroll and hidive/prime but can't afford to pay for Netflix just for this one series. I heard its also on something called abema in Japan. I'm curious if I could use a VPN for that but it likely wouldn't have subtitles.

I doubt Netflix will release it on DVD or anything later either.
