Do u think it is necessary for a movie to incorporate a social/philosophical message to qualify as a good horror movie?
I've been writing some horror stories, and even though they'll probably never get out of my notes app, I always imagine them to end up as movie scripts and write accordingly. It's like I can visualise each and every part as a movie scene. But while writing, I always ask myself this question: should I try to incorporate a philosophical/social message in my story for it to qualify as a good horror story? I usually focus more on visual description, engaging plot and mysterious elements. I wonder if these elements alone can make a movie stand out to the audience. Share your views and also your approach if you write horror stories.
