The Dreams in our Scars

I watched him slowly let go of the things he once swore were just part of who he was—he stopped snorting, stopped drinking, stopped chasing distractions that led him nowhere, and started pulling away from the noise of nights out and empty conversations. Not because I asked him to, and not because I made him choose-but because he began to see something worth becoming.

I saw him soften in ways pride once wouldn't allow, open himself to reflection, to growth, to listening without defense. He started choosing peace over ego, truth over habit, and direction over impulse. All of it—not to impress, but because something in him finally aligned with the man he wanted to be. And that shift? It happened because of love, but more importantly, because he wanted it.

That's the thing—if he wanted to, he would. And if there's a way, there's also a will. You can't force a man to change; the right one transforms when he's ready, and when he sees something real enough to be better for.
