Is it legal or ethical to screen-record and share Omegle/Chatroulette chats?
Hi everyone,
I recently had a chat on Chatroulette where the person only told me afterwards that they were recording the conversation. They asked for my permission to post it online as a fun informational conversation, which I denied
During the chat, I shared some of my personal political views on different countries and talked about religious hatred on the site by people of certain regions and countries. I usually never do this—I’m very private about politics (to the point that I use use fake IDs even to like posts), but I got carried away that day and spoke openly.
The video doesn’t show any identifying information about me except my face. No name, no location, no other details.
I’m feeling pretty uncomfortable now because I don’t want my political opinions out there publicly.
I have a few questions:
- What are the odds that this video could ever come up in a background check?
- If it was posted online somewhere, could an employer or government agency realistically find it just by searching my face?
- Is there any way that I can know if the video was actually posted through reverse image search?
