Am I the only one who doesn't like Irish?

Irish from the very beginning was disobedient, and disregarded orders from Recker and Kovic. I get he has to take the role because they didn't give Recker a voice, but then having Irish be the CO would make more sense. He'd likely be written up and discharged IRL the amount of times he disobeys and overrules his commanding officer. And his beef with Hannah (before Singapore)? He tells hundreds of random people to follow him and is very defensive and confrontational about it, but the one person he doesn't trust is the VIP because..? That said, I didn't hesitate to choose him at the end.
