is it bad that i messaged someone in the prospective team on LinkedIn after first interview with HR?

I just had an initial call with a recruiter this morning and was really thrilled about the role and also the company. I decided to shoot a message to someone who's already in the team at the company asking to connect and chat about what the role looks like day-to-day. He was eager to reply at first (i didn't start off by saying i already interviewed 1st round) but completely ghosted me after i mentioned i already talked to recruiter. did this blow my chance? am i doomed? i read that they aren't supposed to talk to candidates as they might have to interview them in the next round.... what should i do
