My boyfriend (20M) is off the radar, and it makes me worried (19F).
My boyfriend and I went long distance three weeks ago, he’s now across all the way in Washington state, so there's a time zone difference too. He’s always been a good communicator, but he dislikes using his phone and is trying to disconnect more, so he rarely texts unless it’s for something specific.
When he does respond, he’s super thoughtful and reacts to my messages right away, but he often goes off the radar for long stretches. I know he cares, but it still makes me feel insecure sometimes. I get that we can’t text every day, but it still makes me a little sad.
I know he’s with his family, keeps himself busy, and often gets lost in his own world. But I’m struggling a bit to understand how to deal with the lack of consistent communication. To me, relationships are about communication and compromise, so I’d really appreciate any advice on how to better understand this dynamic or cope with it.
