Caught between chasing career growth and a fulfilling personal life ? when did you decide that you'd had enough?

Advice

***Reflection post

**I hope this stays and doesn't get counted as redundant.**

TL;DR but you could have AI summarize the long version for you, you know. :D

Does anyone else here with a few years of work experience or decades of work experience think about this? Anyone else feel burned by pursuing the "right" career moves?

Long version

Here's the positivity: After my undergrad and a year of working, I chose to pursue a Master's degree in a field that I thought would fit me very well. It worked out well- I managed to work in areas close to my field of study and with companies that are great stepping stones. I've grown my income just enough to not feel the last few years of inflation (yet). I learned a lot and feel confident to take on more challenges and keep working.

Here's the kicker: Lost nearly half a decade living in places for these work opportunities. Places I wouldn't chose to live in if I had a choice. The most personal growth I experienced getting jaded, wariness and seeing through corporate b***s*** and capitalistic BS. But I have found myself, what I like and what I wouldn't mind getting involved in for decades to come. But this counts as burnout to me. I am already thinking of choosing location > job description for my next career move.

My question for unpartnered people is: Were you caught between growing professionally and growing personally/ socially? How did you handle it at various ages or career stages?

My question for partnered people is: How did you and your partner handle it? How much was too much when it came to moving frequently? What happened when this caused arguments? When did you decide that life/location/partner > job description and pay?
