Part 2 of the breakup story
turns out he's just like every other guy out there (yes y'all really are the same, except like 2% maybe). i kept begging him to stay, kept trying, but i knew something was off. so i texted his ex. and girl, i wasn’t ready for what i found out, this man is a CHEATER. not just once, but at least twice confirmed, and who knows how many more.
his ex told me about his first girlfriend, and how he's still in love with her. that’s when i lost it. i called him, asked him to just be honest and you know what he said? that he realised he still loves her in the last week of june (and I kid you not, that's my birthday month and two days later if my birthday he texted her) after everything he did with me. after the dates, the calls, the names like “nana” “kanna” “cutu” “my baby,” after picking me up and dropping me home, after being the fake green flag, after pretending to be the sweetest guy ever, he says he still loves her?
like bro. why did you waste my time? why lead me on when you knew you weren’t over someone else? why play perfect boyfriend for no reason? he even told his akka and babai about me. i wrote him a poem, he made it his wallpaper. he acted like my delivery guy so i could surprise my dad with flowers on father's day. he called me every morning and every night. and yeah, i know that's all bare minimum, but girls let's be honest, we don't even expect bare minimum anymore cause most of these men can't even manage that.
this just proved exactly why i don’t do long-term stuff. i told him in the beginning itself, i don’t want anything serious because i’m scared of commitment. and then he made me feel like i could trust him, like this would be different. and now? now i'm back at square one. broken, anxious, and doubting myself all over again.
so yeah, just a reminder, always listen to your gut. that little voice in your head? it’s never wrong. don’t let your heart make stupid decisions when your mind already sees the red flags.
and wish me luck, cause i know i’m gonna take so much time to move on. i know i’ll have panic attacks, i know i'll spiral. but i’ll get through it ig. somehow.
just... beware of men like this. they’ll pretend to be everything you’ve ever wanted, just to crush you in the end.
