Hiking embarrassments

Had a few hours spare on Sat so thought I'd do a few miles of the Cotswold Way, pub lunch and ramble back. After the initial 700 foot up from my house I realised I'd not put decent socks on but pressed on. By the pub my heels were in bits. Had to sack it off, hobble a mile to the bus stop and get the only bus of the afternoon home. I'd made it 4 miles. Feet still recovering, ego not yet recovered 🤣
