Pregnancy Discrimination
I need some advice. I requested a raise because my supervisor assigned me additional tasks beyond my regular duties, which is a significant increase in my workload. I’m already doing the work of two people. Fast forward to my next one-on-one meeting, where I disclosed my pregnancy. Despite being aware of my fertility treatments for months, she told me during the conversation that i’m negative and volital and disruptive to the team. which was news to me? She also informed me that I had two weeks to find another role outside our organization. If I decided to stay, I would be placed on a performance plan. However, I’m leading the team in terms of numbers, and my performance has been exemplary. This incident occurred on a Wednesday, and I had Thursday and Friday off. On Monday, during our next one-on-one meeting, she informed me that it had come to light that I make people feel uncomfortable, and today was my last day. They started shutting down my entire desk.
Can someone explain how this is not discrimination? I received no warning, no coaching, and never signed any documentation.
