Wunderflats booking: is it normal to pay rent and deposit before move-in?

Hi, I booked a flat in Berlin (Vonder K55, Köpenicker Str. 55) through Wunderflats. The listing has the green verification tick, so it seems officially vetted. After the booking was confirmed, the landlord (Vondereurope) sent me a contract and asked me to transfer the full first month’s rent and the deposit before I arrive. They also provided two separate bank accounts for the payments.

Is it normal to pay everything upfront before moving in on Wunderflats? Has anyone had a similar experience with VonderEurope/Wunderflats? Just want to make sure it's safe before sending money from abroad.
