Passed SHRM-CP [CA]

Just passed (30 min ago) the SHRM-CP exam. I want to list of helpful resources and studying tips that helped me.

Background - Senior HR Generalist, 7 years of experience

Time studying - 2 months, averaging 80 hours, pulled 10 hours days on weekends.

Resources Used - primarily online learning system, flashcards, SHRM books bought with learning system , 3 videos from Angela on YouTube. I relied heavily on the online practice tests provided for each section. I kept reading that it was learning how to think like SHRM so I analyzed my Incorrect answers. I tried completing the big online practice test provided but did not complete it due to running out of time. I felt that I had enough practice with the smaller practice tests.

Opinion on test - completed test with about an hour to spare, easier than expected, few questions were definitely confusing and I knew not to waste my time on them. If I didn’t know the answer, I made and educated guess but moved on quickly. I only had 1 employment law question which was surprising. Most of my knowledge questions revolved around HR structure, global mindset, employee resolution techniques, learning and dev, drug testing (surprised). I did not use the calculator provided.
