Spotify suddenly stopped working (using free version)

Basically until yesterday I've been able to use the mobile Spotify app normally as a free user, create and listen to my own playlist on shuffle only, ablility to search up and listen to songs etc. Starting today however, My playlist will not load and when I search up something and try to listen to it or try to play a reccomended playlist it just says "you've discovered a premium feature". Is this a glitch or just how Spotify free is now?
