I just want to confirm that I’m not required to show ₹16L / AUD 29K in a savings account as long as I have an education loan that covers all my expenses for student visa feb intake ??

Subclass 500

Hi everyone! I’m planning to pursue a Master’s in Data Science in Australia for the Feb 2026 intake. I had a few doubts regarding education loan and financial proof for the student visa — would appreciate some help:

  1. I’ve heard I need to show ₹16 lakhs (~AUD 29,000) in my or my parent’s bank account as financial proof for the visa. But can I skip this if I get a sanctioned education loan?

  2. Is it possible to get a full loan amount (₹16–25 lakhs / ~AUD 29,000–45,000) that covers tuition fees + living expenses + travel, without offering any collateral?

  3. I’m okay with a higher interest rate if needed, but I don’t have any property to mortgage. Can I go for an unsecured loan and still be eligible for the visa?

  4. If I get the loan, will a sanctioned loan letter be accepted as financial proof, or do I still need to show funds in a savings account?

  5. Do I need to get the loan disbursed before the visa, or just the sanction letter is enough?

  6. What all details must the loan letter include to be acceptable for visa?

I just want to confirm that I’m not required to show ₹16L / AUD 29K in a savings account as long as I have an education loan that covers all my expenses.

If anyone has gone through a similar process or has tips, it would really help. Thanks in advance!
