Rabbit went to vet for EC now waiting results
Hello! Sorry this will be an anxious word vomit post... I was just looking for some encouragement while I anxiously await the EC test results to come back. Ipa is a Silver Marten who is about 7 years old. I have had her since she was around 4-6 months old and we've luckily never really had an issue until now. I do have one other rabbit, her bonded pair (Moose, 6 years old, which I've had since he was 1 year old). Both of them are spayed and neutered.
I went on vacation over the holiday weekend and noticed that my rabbit started developing a tilt on Sunday. I noticed through the pet cams so I had my pet sitter take her to the vet. I was able to get her into a vet, however unfortunately I had to go to an emergency exotic vet since I was not able to get into my vet. Luckily they have been kind and helpful. They suspected EC to be the likely cause and we sent out the results Monday but it takes 7-10 days to get the results back... They did attempt to do a scan to rule out an ear infection, however she kept waking up quickly and they had a hard time with the neck tilt so they weren't able to 100% rule out. They didn't want to try again with strong sedation until the EC results come back negative. She ended up staying the night in the hospital and they said she was eating some and pooping some but not as much as she should for a rabbit her size (~5lbs). She was able to come back home with me yesterday with a slew of medications to help. I also have given her critical care so that we can prevent GI statis as much as possible. Last night she seemed in high spirits, moving around a lot and even eating some on her own. Also chewing on toys. However today she seems lower energy, hiding more and not wanting to eat. She does infrequently still chew on the toys but not as much as last night. I guess all of this to say I am super fucking stressed and checking on her every 5 minutes as a result. Does anyone have any kind words or advice??
I am trying to make sure she is pooping but I have another rabbit and it gets confusing to see who pooped what. She did poop today and I noticed she didn't eat her cecotropes which has never happened and I know is probably just a result of her feeling bad... ugh. Anyway any advice would be helpful!
