Speculative question, why do y'all think everything is closing/dead around here? Whole foods is gone, half the shopping centers are dead and food places keep closing. What do y'all think

Do people just not frequent enough for these places to stay open? Are things are more expensive now so are people just conserving their money? Does the city govt drain funds instead of using taxes to improve the city? All of the above?

It's also interesting seeing people want trader joes/Dutch bros/whatever to come here (which I agree with bc I want more fun places around here) meanwhile half the town seems dead/dying. Idk what do y'all think
