I'd love to hear some constructive criticism! I've written quite a few short stories, but this is my first big project titled "The Despicables." Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

"The Despicables"

“Miss, Subject 27 has been stabilized."  

Claire Anne Boyer smiled. “Well, what are you waiting for? Put it down!” She had so much more to worry about than a rogue experiment.  

“But Miss, are you sure? You told us not to hurt her.”  

“Oh hon, you have so much to learn, so much.” Claire was never one to repeat herself, but she would make an exception: “Get your ### out and KILL IT!”

“Her exact orders were to kill the subject.”  

“But it’s just a child!”  

“Sienna, what are you talking about? It’s not a real child.”  

“But Mica, can’t you see? It is just a baby. We made life. Constructed it out of atoms, out of science and now I-I just can’t bring myself to kill it.”  

“Me either, but it was her exact orders,” Mica sighed.  

“M-Maybe I could raise her. Take her; I-I could hide her,” Sienna said, exasperated.  

Mica’s eyes hardened for a second before softening. “You must hide her. You can never stop running. Take her for both of us.”  

Tears began to flow down her face. “W-What about you?”  

He smiled at her, with a melancholy smile. “I’ve lived my life. Now you go let her live hers.” His eyes focused on the sleeping baby.  

“Don’t ever stop running.”
