Fork Oil Change

Hello All,
My fork seal on the brake side leaked and I changed the oil and seal. But did that on one side only.
Is there anything that can go wrong replacing only one side? Will the suspension work differently? Will it damage my tires? The bike has over 25k miles and I don't know the previous history well. The oil was near black when I removed it.
