Should I cut ties with my FP.

đź’Seeking Support & Advice

So I have a FP who's basically a crush. She was my coworker until she found a new job out of the city and left a few weeks ago. Prior to that we had good conversations, shared each other's interests and always treated each other fine. Just before she left we were closer than ever but we didn't get to any point where we had the ""responsibility"" to take care of each other or simply keep sharing updates of our lives, so we pretty much disappeared from each other's lives. The day I knew she was about to leave obviously felt like hell for me, but fortunately that pushed me to seek some professional help (which I hadn't done before). Recently I texted her just to wish her luck in her new job, knowing there was a big chance she wouldn't respond, but she did and was as kind to me as ever. In fact, she has never done anything bad to me, all the pain that I ever got from her came from her justifiable and understandable silences.

Now I'm thinking we could start texting regularly again and probably recover the constant contact that we had, so my question is: is it possible to build a healthy bond (not necessarily a romantyone) out of this? Especially considering:

  • I already know why I act and feel the way I do
  • I have resources (therapy, medication) to help me stabilize myself when I feel bad for things that should be normal
  • She's not forced to talk to me anymore because she won't see me again if she doesn't want to.

And most importantly, could that be good for me? Or should I just cut ties with her to stop hurting myself with her silences?
