My friends only talk about his other friends when he’s with me

We’re in different schools, but it’s pretty obvious he prefers his new friends over me. They have the same tiktok humour and they call each other on the weekend and in the evenings and other things we never did together.

Honestly I’m sad about it especially because he’s the only person who I talked to during middle school and is the one who I share my stories with (a very intimate thing for me).

But yeah all he talks about when we’re chatting or even going out together is his friends, his class, or his girlfriend very enthusiastically. I try to talk about my school too but he often just tells me how shit my school is and the argument just dies there. He lets me see all the funny pictures he took with his classmates, and he always can’t go out with me because he’s with his friends or he can’t. One day I asked him to come over so we could bake something together but he couldn’t anyway.

I’m really sorry because he’s been my best friend for many years. I introduced alt music and culture to him and he’s been supporting my writing, but I always feels so abandoned when I try to talk to him. He takes ages to respond to my messages and he never send me reels on instagram. Which may seem like a silly thing, but he always send stuff to his other friends, and even friends of our same group. So why them and not me? I’m scared I’m just too boring for him to care.
