Why do people say sonic was cool and black in the 2000s and now sonic is white therefore boring ?????

This is the most stupid debate I ever heard , everything in the 2000s was trying to be cool and hip , it was just a fad that went away , but I like when people say sonic was black , like " yeah man sonic had rap and did gangsta signs in the games he is so black " sounds racist to me

And to say he is white now because he is " boring " is also stupid , sure the games from the 2000s are better than most games form the 2010s but this has literally nothing to do with sonic being a black guy who listens to rap

Idk I hear this alot on X and it just feels like people can't enjoy anything at all without making it about themselves
