Hello folks,
I remember a few years ago, freelancing was booming in Pakistan. People were making good money through platforms like Fiverr, Upwork, YouTube, and affiliate marketing. But in 2024–25, that golden period seems over for most.

●	Web-dev has become painfully oversaturated. Bootcamps and online courses flooded the market with thousands of entry-level developers, mostly learning React or PHP. AI has automated a lot of the simpler work, so clients don’t even need to hire anymore especially not at a premium.

●	Graphic design ma platforms like Fiverr have turned into a price war zone, where you’re up against $3 logo offers from countries with even lower operating costs. On top of that, many clients now prefer using tools like Canva or generating quick art with AI (like MidJourney or DALL·E). Static designs aren’t in demand anymore; brands are shifting toward video content, reels, and animations.

●	content writing's just dead. The only writing jobs that still pay well are high-level SEO or content strategy roles, but those require specialized skills that most beginner or intermediate writers in Pakistan just don’t have.

●	I once saw it as a reliable side hustle, it’s not what it used to be. Ad revenue (RPM) for Pakistani channels is among the lowest in the world. You need 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours just to qualify for monetization, and even then, you’re earning pennies. YouTube has also gotten strict about demonetizing "low-quality" or commentary channels. Meanwhile, attention is shifting to Shorts and Reels, and unless you're in the top 1%, long-form content isn’t growing the way it used to.

●	Affiliate marketing main Amazon etc has slashed comissions and SEO is pay-to-win now w backlinks and all.

Inn halat main, what do u think are some of the underexplored opps out there especially for beginners?

Traditional online streams drying up, what should one look forward to?
