Getting beyond Español con Juan listening comprehension?

Resources & Media

Hey all! So I’m doing pretty well across the board but I’m still struggling with listening comprehension and was hoping some other people could tell me what pushed them over the edge. I’m currently able to watch español con Juan and understand everything (90-100%), videos, podcasts etc. I also generally do decently with SOME native content. I can watch movies and do oookay with comprehension but I rely much more on contextual understanding than actually grasping the individual meaning of words.

I struggle most with native content and even more so with conversations involving multiple parties. I feel like my listening is simultaneously great and terrible. I’m improving but I want to be able to actually understand most if not all native content and conversations where people are actually having legit normal conversation with pauses and interruptions etc, not just one person talking on youtube, because I do okay with that.

Was there anything that pushed your Spanish listening comprehension over the edge or is this really just a time thing?
