Donald Trump slams Vladimir Putin’s ‘bulls\*\*\*’ and ‘meaningless’ gestures to end Ukraine war

🇺🇸 Trump’s U‑Turn on Ukraine

Reversed weapons pause: Trump abruptly reversed a decision enacted last week by Pentagon officials (notably Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth) to halt deliveries of defensive arms—including Patriot missiles and F-16 ammo—to Kyiv. He acknowledged the move was made without his full awareness and deemed the pause a mistake.

Tough words on Putin: Expressing growing frustration, Trump criticized Vladimir Putin’s tactics, stating “we get a lot of bullshit thrown at us by Putin,” and lamenting he’s “not happy” with how Putin has handled peace talks.

Renewed arms support: He authorized sending additional defensive weapons, including up to 10 Patriot missiles, to help Ukraine defend against Russia’s intensified air and drone assaults.

Motivations behind the shift: Trump’s move appears influenced by multiple pressures—backlash from allies, Capitol Hill expectations to use remaining aid funds, and a desire to appear solid in U.S. foreign policy while pinning blame for stalled peace on Putin.

Mixed reviews: Ukrainian officials, including adviser Andriy Yermak, praised the reversal, calling Trump “the only leader” capable of pressing Putin; however, analysts warn that relying solely on Trump’s volatile pronouncements is risky and lacks long-term strategy.

 Bottom line

Trump’s abrupt reversal showcases a dramatic pivot from cautiousness to proactive military aid—driven by heightened Russian aggression, political backlash, and frustration with Putin. Despite criticism of his unpredictability, the decision has temporarily bolstered U.S. support for Ukraine and strained relations with Moscow.
